  • Military Academy of Lithuania: Beowulf cluster (4 AMD/1200 + 10 PIII/800 + 16 PIII/733 + 2 PII/450)
  • Technical University of Vilnius: Beowulf cluster (16 P4/3200 + 20 PIII/1400)

National academic network

LITNET, the national academic and research network organisation, manages the national network (also called LITNET). Its main nodes in Vilnius and Kaunas are connected with 622 Mbps links. The universities, academies and research institutes access LITNET at speeds of 4 upto 200 Mbps. International connectivity includes a 622 Mbps link to GÉANT.

LITNET is funded by the Ministry of Science and Education. The budget for 2004 is € 3.3 million.
